Part 3 of My Life Journey:
My sick leave has finished, and I have to go back to site to meet the Project manager and the other team who never tried to make me feel welcome
As usual I waited for the company bus at around 6 am and went to the site, the bus driver was so nice person and I used to talk with him all the way to the site. He informed me that morning about some major changes happened during my absence
, I was excited and worried at the same time and could not wait to arrive
When I reached the site, I felt some kind of belonging, I never felt before. Went directly to the Portacabin site office “I had no office for me but the Project manager and the head surveyor and one big staff room” There I saw the New Project Manager and the New Project Engineer and guess what both were Syrian from my own country and Speak my own language … what a relief…
The project manager was a very serious guy and not easy to talk to. But the project engineer was very humble
and easy going. And I noticed that he was aware about my lack of experience and my other weaknesses, he showed me full support. This guy was knowledgeable but always hesitant and couldn’t take decisions, this was a big disadvantage as I have to wait for ever if I need a decision. But now I see it was an advantage for me, I was forced sometimes to take full responsibility and take my own decisions which I still feel its impact till now.
It is not easy to write about my self and not easy to avoid going into deep details, I will try to make some long jumps in my upcoming stories…see you then
